Catherine Nelson becomes the new owner of Beltene, a horse breeding farm in Ireland, when Patrick Shaw is forced to sell. Patrick is now working on the farm as a horse trainer. Catherine plans to make a success of this new venture until her prize stallion Limerick is stolen. Together, Catherine and Patrick determine to find the horse and the thief, before any harm can come to Limerick. Lucky for them that Familiar the cat is staying at the farm for a few weeks while his owners are away.

Loved this book! Familiar, black cat detective, must investigate a haunting and solves his mystery. Loved it! Black cats and a paranormal mystery always go well in !y book unless the black cart is being hurt. Thankfully, Familiar wasn't.

Took me a bit of getting used to with the whole cat-detective thing, but overall the story was really good and made me want to keep reading.
