This is often referred to as the Burns and Peltason text. A classic introduction to American politics. Their perpsective is not one that I preferred, so I never used this as a textbook. Nonetheless, it was a legendary introduction (and was republished through many subsequrent editions over time).
Fredrick Danysh
A text for American government written for high school students. It is easy to read and understand with numerous sidebars.
Sandeep Bhalla
A good book for every student of law interested in USA Constitution and its working.
