Out of the Ramsey siblings story, I was looking forward to read Jack's story. Losing everything his family held dear to cards I wanted to see how he can redeem himself.
Does he redeem himself? Somewhat. Jack fights through the book his gambling addiction, and like an addiction one can fall of the wagon before getting up dusting themselves off and trying again. Oh no this is number 3. I did not know that. I just wanted a mindless read off of my bookshelf. Now I must look for 1&2!! Funny to read a book written in 1997. How writing has changed! This is actually a lovely story of Jack, of noble heritage and Selina, a rich tradesman daughter, a "mushroom". Excellent - Totally 5 *****! I loved the unusual beginning and the way the hero had a realistic problem he had to continually battle to overcome. Also loved the unique musical aspect woven through this story. The dialogue was excellent. Great book!
