Little kids will love this story of cows searching for a missing doughnut. It's full of kid humor: animals dressed in silly costumes, a sassy rooster, misunderstandings, outsmarting other animals, etc, and lots of stereotypical detective talk for kids to ask about and learn with their parents. I could hear my nieces and nephews laughing in my head as I read it. I didn't think the watercolor artwork was particularly notable, but it isn't bad. Just nothing terribly special about it.
Minnie and Moo are two of the greatest cows in all of children's literature. I feel quite confident in making that statement, mostly because I think they're hilarious, and also because I can't really think of any other comedic cows in kids' books....
And silly me, I was fooled the whole time about what happened to that jelly donut.
*Bonus: Elvis the (drunk??) Rooster makes an appearance!

This book is so cute! It is a great book for kids to be able to read independently! It has colorful illustrations that make the book more interesting! The short chapters would make it easy to get through, which is good for a child's confidence! The mystery part of it adds some action to the story.
This book was fun to read. The mystery is great for children because it keeps them engaged. This book was not difficult to read, so it would be great for children moving up to advanced transitional books.
Minnie and Moo are cows that go on a hunt for a missing jelly donut. It is a silly fun book for beginning readers. It is a level 3 book. The pictures are colorful and fun. There are a series of Minnie Moo books for the students to read after they read this book.

Minnie and Moo think creatively and solve problems with their barnyard friends. A fun read for young school age children!
With companion audio CD (read by Barbara Caruso) --Best audio reading of a child's book I've ever listened to.
First time my daughter really enjoys reading - Was funny for a 6 years-old ( even for a grown-up Mom)
