The author creates a world and time that made me envision scenes from the movie 'Gladiator'. The opening scene had me questioning if I could come to like Azrael. It is very brutal and even though the author doesn't get too graphic, it was hard to stop my active imagination. There were only a few issues for me. This book is pretty crappy. Badly written, poorly edited, with characterizations and motivations that don't make sense in human terms. Started reading it for a book group. I will sell this on eBay once I'm done.
