recommends it for: everyone who enjoys something different, experimental - a good journey - exploring self
I had to do a little research to read parts of this book. It was fun though, going to Google Earth and getting the lay of the territory, the south Atlantic in particular and zooming in on places like Ascension Island, Tristan, Diego Garcia and Chagos and of course, Nightingale Island.

As a pilot, I particularly enjoyed the travels by air the approach patterns and too --- being transported in different ways -- not to mention the quantum-ness of the entire story -- the hope in the journey and ...more

recommends it for: Anyone concerned with a world that takes promising technology and turns it into weaponry.
I struggled a bit in the first chapter due mainly to the 'stream of consciousness' type of writing in the beginning but Across the Phantom Divide became one of those books that pops into your mind later. You're thinking about it without realizing so. After that kicked in I went back to it with gusto.

I like the international settings and it was obvious that the author had actually been to those places and had done her research. Good ending, too.
