Chasing the Stars is so much more than just a story of sweet young romance. The author covered many issues of a young girls fight to survive in an environment that failed to provide her with stability and love, but the one that resonated with me the most and I could relate to was the physical violence inflicted by Mackenzie’s deadbeat father, whilst her weak mother refused to intervene leaving Mac open to endure his beatings time and time again.
