The story revolves around bullfighting which disturbs me. Concern for the animals' welfare was not the author's intent, I'm sure. I felt really bad for the animals and didn't find Sebastiano to be such a wonderful man for being the best bullfighter. I didn't like Sebastiano or Pepita. Very shallow type of love story here.

Pepita and Sebastiano are attracted to each other by their beautiful looks and flame up passion for each other because their desires for love aren't easily fulfilled. Such passionate love doesn't last long, in my opinion. I think Sebastiano will cheat on Pepita ten years later.
