Shelves: mystery
A slim book that attempts to be a psychological thriller of the Patricia Highsmith variety. A respectable lawyer finds his mistress electrocuted in his bath after a tryst, and decides to bury her body, hoping no one will the wiser. But of course the deceived husband finds out, and then the police come calling, and even the main character's secretary gets involved. The evidence is all the more damning since the main character's own wife disappeared years before.

Miles Barton Tripp (1923–2000) was an English writer of thirty-seven works of fiction including crime novels and thrillers, some of which he wrote under noms de plume Michael Brett and John Michael Brett.
