I picked up this book the same summer that I read "Reviving Ophelia" and "Smart Girls, Gifted Women," both of which talk extensively about how society doesn't give young women a fair shake. So, in fairness, I wanted to read about how we're not giving young men a fair shake. I'm still interested in some thoughts on that subject, but I didn't find anything substantive here. The book is poorly written, poorly documented, and based mostly on stereotypes.

Powerful words for parents of boys and girls, this book labels the gender politics of the last three decades for the silly farce they have become. Despite their best intentions, those pushing for a world that addresses the needs of young women have inadvertently handicapped the boys those young women will need to help them rule the world.

A really good book, in my opinion. It is kind of a counter to Mary Pipher's "Reviving Ophelia"-- which I thought had its own good points. Now that I have a boy, I am going to re-read it. It has good points about education and how differently boys learn from girls.

Read this one after reading One Nation Under Therapy. Put simply everybody with a son should read this book. Apparently the situation is not as bad here in Canada as in the US but wow.

An excellent critique of an often ignored aspect of the effects of feminism in our schools.
