I'm an English major with a philosophy minor so this book was right down my alley. My classmates didn't particularly enjoy it and said the text was difficult to read but I found it easy given some of what I had read in my undergrad. And I loved seeing theories I already knew applied to family process and development.
I should preface this by saying Family Theories is an introductory level textbook for students of Systems Theory and Marriage and Family Therapy.
The book is well thought-out and approachable. Though guidance from a professor is necessary to truly understand the depth of the work, White and Klein have translated an over-abundance of information into something as close to layman's terms as the discipline allows.
