Loved. Loved this book. I am of the opinion that the best fantasy (like novels by Angus Wells) was written in the late 80s early 90s. Much of the fantasy stuff being published today is just superhero/comic booky nonsense or overly grim and dark for grim and dark sake (btw I like grim and dark...just not ALL the time). Loved this series. It's been a long time I've read it, but, it was one of the first fantasy series I read where

1) The use of fire-arms.

2) Mankind was not your typical 'european' group. It was first nations people.

3) Duology.

Great great series.

Out of print now, pick em up if you see them!

An intriguing if sometimes a little wordy story, good characters and concept.

Good story, but there were a ridiculous number of typos and editing issues! I found it difficult to read because of the errors.
