I have to say this book wasn't nearly as good as the first one in the series. It was still a great read, thus I gave it four stars, but it didn't meet all my expectations.

EEEP! By far my favorite in the series! I have a fascination with the Revolutionary war - so many courageous men and women standing for their beliefs! All the adventure and history of the times is to be found, along with a vast deal more of clues and codes, mystery, and thrills. I could say more but I think I'd give too much away... ;) Seriously, READ THIS BOOK!! :D

And, despite the fact that I mentioned there is a dying man, it's not scary and creepy for the recommended age (which I think is 10+

Book 2 in this series. This book follows the fictional John Raleigh Gates and his family, dealing with the events leading to the war for American Independence. I liked how this book tied in historical events and people throughout the book...and I think that it's great that it included the post script that detailed what was fictional versus factual. I thought this exciting book was fantastic! I would like to find the other volumes, too.

The books are based on characters created for the Disney National Treasure movies, but these are not movie novels.

These are historical fiction and I thought they were well done.

Can we say boring? The characters were interesting altough there was no development. The clues were confusing and just seemed to go on and on. I still think it would make a great premise for a story but not by this author.

Okay I know I havent read this one yet, but this series of books is based on the ancestor of character that Nick Cage plays in National Treasure. Adventure seeking is defintely passed down from one generation to another! You have got to check out this series!

The story was much slower than I anticipated. It's worth a read if you have some extra time on your hands, but overall I was slightly disappointed.

If you enjoy the National Treasure movies you should give these books a try. They read quickly and have wonderful historical facts in them.
