This has got to be one of the more convoluted Nancy Drew books. Awash in overwhelming coincidence, Nancy tracks down another Nancy Drew, who a) has inherited a great deal of money b) is being pursued by the con artist brother of Nancy's mailman who discovered that Nancy2 had gotten the money when he stole mail from his brother in order to get to the Drews' mail because one of Mr. Drew's clients was also a victim of one of the bad guy's cons 3) Ned Nickerson's acting coach 4) The former governess...more

This was my very first Nancy Drew book. I read it when I was eight years old and continued to read the entire series for the next two years. Carolyn Keene was the first writer who made me want to read all their books. Any litle girl with curiosity and an imagination should like this series and this author. Carolyn Keene was a true American treasure.

Nancy's letters was very creepy when somebody sent her a letter. Then the letter to nancy was gone. The mailman said there was money inside it. So nancy had the feeling that somebody wanted the letter of nancy cuz he wanted to be rich or maybe it was just a hoax? Its up to nancy to solve this case. Better read it if you want to know more.

a good nancy drew book, but a little long i think and the ending was kinda sad. it seemed as though the author came up with the plot in a hurry, though and it wasn't suspenseful as i hoped it would be. it wasn't my favorite, but worth the time to read.

I have two editions of this book and it's interesting to read teh changes that have occurred between its original 1930s publication and its modern version. The story was shortened, characters changed and/or added, and the story modernized.

This is the first Nancy Drew book I ever owned and ever read. I must dig it out of my mother's attic and read it again!
