A very interesting read, with well-reproduced paintings & sketches by the man himself and thoughtful discussion by the editors. Also opffers contrasting nudes by other painters to get a better bead on what Sickert was trying to accomplish with his own work. One wonders if they were trying to be sly in putting a nude on the cover of the book posed in almost exactly the position of Mary Jane Kelly in the last shot ever taken of her.
