This novel offers a welcome return to the Greenside Estate, backdrop to The Scholar. New characters rub shoulders with some more familiar faces, and weaving through them all is Elisha, recently arrived in Greenside and keen to learn more about her neighbors' histories, especially the ones they're trying to keep secret. Some of their tales are tragic and some are farcical, some are shocking and others are inspiring.
