I inherited this book from my grandmother. Along with other books of hers it has sat on the shelf waiting. I began reading This Rough Magic wanting to learn a little more about my Nan, Mary Stewart was one of her favorite writers and I could just imagine my Nan enjoying the lovely descriptions of Corfu and Greek landscape.
This book is very unlike books I would usually pick for myself to read but I did enjoy it. Stewart has a warm writing voice. It isn't going to reach any top 10 lists for m...more

Lucy is a wonderful heroine and her loves vary from dolphins to actors to photographers to musicians. And while it is a bit of a surprise who she ends up with, there is never any doubt that it is t...more

Well, this book or another of Mary Stewart's. Katie and I are thinking of reading a Mary Stewart book and this is one of the "front-runners."
