It was just an argument, one of hundreds Daisy Tucker must have had with her teenage daughter, Sage, over the years. But this one had ended differently, with Sage gone from their Connecticut home the next morning, leaving behind only a brief note: “I have to go.” Daisy tried not to overreact, tried to remind herself this was different from what had happened thirteen years ...more

Why I picked this book up: first of all, the main character designs jewelry, which has been an interest of mine, secondly, it is set in the country, which allows me to escape this infernal concrete jungle I'm stuck in.

The story was fine. The introduction was a bit long, and I put it down twice before I really got into it and stayed with it. Mind you, I'll finish a book like this is four to six hours, if I'm really enveloped by the story.

Daisy is a strange person to me. He...more

This book was pleasant, story line was good. I could not deeply connect to this story, because there was just too much fantasy and not enough reality in it. Every twist and turn was contrived, and unbelievable.

It is supposed to be a story of second chances, and how even after a life-devastating tragedy, families can heal and reconnect. The problem for me was that the author was so in love with the background (western country life) that she focussed on that with very little research....more

From the minute I picked up this book, till the very last page i was fascinated. It makes even a city girl like me want to move out to the big canyons and farm life in Wyoming, at least for a few minutes. It is truly a novel about forgiveness, hope, love, and most importantly family. James and Daisy Tucker are two characters that believe in that kind of life, and the author did a great job in both writing and choreographing the characters' emotions. It is an epic drama that will have even the mo...more

Wow! What a great story. I was riveted and could not put it down. I actually had to read ahead (which I never do) so I could put it down and go to work. If I wasn't already a fan of Luanne's writing, I would be now.

I have read this book over and over. I just love the story. And I can relate to the family drama. The author doesnt bring the resolution to the characters easily which is refreshing.
Julie
Again, I read the reader's digest version, so it may have edited out racier scenes. This story had romance, mystery and poignant interactions between characters.
Becky
A bit contrived, more than a touch cheesey, but still a fun read with lovely descriptions of outdoor life in the interior west (something this midwest girl misses).

Another good book by Luanne Rice. I have read lots of her books and have never been dissapointed. This book is a story about a broken up family who finds their way back together. Very good book. I would reccomend it for anyone.

This book was okay, but a bit predictable. Also, I am not sure how well the author knows Wyoming.

I had never heard of Luanne Rice before and found her on the Featured Author shelf at the library.
Marianne
Some mysticism, some romance, some sorrow, some joy, some frustration, some crime, some forgiveness, has it all, with beauriful descriptions of the Wyoming scenery
Peggy

It was easy to lose myself in this book. Not predictable. A mystery and family drama that captured me. Couldn't put it down.
Judy
I love most of her books but this one, for some reason, got me even more emotionally involved. I couldn't put it down!
Angie
This was an okay read. Kind of different, but good. Maybe I would have liked it better sitting, if I would have read it sitting under a tree, on a ranch in Wyoming!

Good read, page-turner, interesting family connections, wonderful images to go along with the content.

This book offers everything you would expect from a Luanne Rice novel: a connection to the characters, descriptions of scenery that make you want to jump in the book and take it all in, and a final 100 pages or so that hook you in and won't let you put it down till you know how everything pans out.
Pam
