Escaping her betrothed, Edward Blackwell, Rebecca stumbles into peril and love aboard the Bark Warwick. Her husband, John Dunton and son, Thomas, are taken by Moroccon pirates and sold as slaves. The pirates in this story are less than admirable! The book is full of adventure as they fight for their lives hoping to be reunited back in England.

I didn't look closely when I chose this book. It is Christian fiction. For me, this type of fiction should be marketed as youth fiction because the writing isn't up to the level of adult fiction. The story was interesting, but mostly bland, lacking flavor, color. I felt like I've heard the story before, only with better writing.

great book! Rebecca tries to escape from Blackwell Tower in 1635 England. The story records her failures and triumphs in her journey. I love historical fiction like this.

This fictional novel is based loosely on a true story while its sequel, Search for the Warwick II, is entirely fiction.
