What a pleasant surprise "Italian Stallions" was. This book contains two connected stories by two different authors. Each story has a different 'feel' to it, but I must confess Jami Alden's story had me teary-eyed.
"In His Bed" by Karin Tabke. Gianna just buried her father and her mother disappeared years ago. When she's approached by a slimy ganster to 'settle her father's debts', she scared and pissed. Her cousin insists she needs attitude...and to dump her 'Madonna' nickname and image. Gianna...more

This is a really good, HOT, erotica anthology. One of those rare finds. I love how Aphrodisia structured this one, too. There are only two novellas in it. One by Karin Tabke, and one by Jami Alden (which is why I bought it). This anthology reads like Part 1 and Part 2 of a novel, which is basically about two Italian cousins, Gia and Theresa, and centers around Gia’s restaurant, Ciao Bella.

Julie (jjmachshev) was right when she said this book was a pleasant surprise. I always go into reading short stories expecting less because it's so hard to tell a solid story in a hundred or so pages. But both the stories in this book were enjoyable to read.

I am surprised how little I liked this. It felt like a dated Mills & Boon romance that someone injected sex into. Virgin heroine (Tabke's)who was brought up in a cloistered atmosphere undergoes a complete turnaround literally overnight upon the death of her beloved father. Just too unbelievable.
These two books reminded me why I detest erotic romances sometimes - the amount of time spent telling me how the hero's cock hardens every time he thinks of or sees the heroine...the heroine salivatin...more

In His Bed By Karen Tabke-Gianna Cipriani’s father dies and Gabe Lamotta is undercover investigating the shady reason behind his death. He’s also got his eye on Gianna. Though she is not aware he’s undercover she meets him and is instantly attracted to him and the passion is steamy. I’ve read Karin Tabke in one other novella and I do love her characters, story and setting. This one being one different. Some authors seem to keep novellas so structured and formulaic it is good to see an author use...more

If your into short stories/anthologies with sexy, possessive alphas, chemistry that is complete combustion and very likable heroines I would recommend this book.
I will start with the second story, Will That Be All, since I couldn't put it down. It was so good because the H&h just sizzled together. She was so sweet and innocent, but with somewhat of a questionable past. Vince, the hero, was rich, gorgeous, sexy, and humble. This story actually brought a tear to my eye, which is weird for a sh

two stories, two different authors. both stories related in that the main heroine's are cousins.
'in his bed' by karin tabke, the first story was moderately ok. the suspense story, which is i guess the main storyline was kind of lame - stereotypical mob connected bad guy trying to take over a family restaurant for the land, threatening heroine with "losing her cherry" (shudder) to him, blah blah blah. hero is undercover (of course). another one of those heroine makeovers where we see she's truly...more

This is a book with two stories. The first is a cop who is undercover trying to break up a mob ring. He meets a woman that the mob leader is trying to blackmail and she will not give in. They are threatening her and he has to step in to help her.
The second story is about a woman who is cousin to woman in the first story. She mets a rich, handsome man and he falls for her. But she has a past that she wants hidden and is afraid she will lose her man if he finds out.

Tabke - In His Bed - I enjoyed the storyline and plot, how the characters met and got along, and the characters. The writing style was a little difficult for me to enjoy. 3 Stars
Alden - Will That Be All - I really enjoyed this story and the writing style of Alden. Only issue was that the characters didn't have a lot of dialogue with each other - just a lot of hot sex. I know it's a short story, but in this case, the storyline had so much potential, i wished it would have been full length with a...more

This is exactly the type of read that I need every now and again. Both of the stories in the book had a down-to-earth story line with strong characters and a few secondary characters to pull it all together. It doesn't hurt that the heroes were hot Italian alphas and the sex was smokin'!
I have never been disappointed with the work of Ms. Tabke and she will continue to be one of my auto-buy authors. ITALIAN STALLIONS completes my library of her work.

Ugh. DNF. (side note: one does not lave with one's teeth)
I only read the second story of the two in this book. The first used a mob/FBI/crime drama angle that irritated me, plus a virginal heroine, which is usually boring, in my opinion. The second story was more "romantica". Basically, an Italian-themed millionaire romance with explicit vanilla sex scenes. It was pretty good - the chemistry between the hero and heroine was well developed.

For a long time, controlled chaos ruled Karin’s life. Busy mother of four, owner of her own successful business and wife to a street cop, she harbored thoughts of twisting plots and hot romantic scenes. Now, with only one child left at home and hubby retired from law enforcement, Karin happily pounds out those steamy scenes at her keyboard.
