Talk about bad timing. After years waiting for a good Apocalypse Now book, Peter Cowie's comes out, right around the same time as "Apocalypse Now Redux." This is a great book for fans of Apocalypse Now. It covers the film and all of its troubles from pre-production right up to its theatrical release. You get rare photos of Harvey Keitel as Willard before Martin Sheen took over and a chapter on the over 5 hour workprint of the film. They're are some things not covered here like the Redux version for example but in the end this is a good indepth look at one of my favorite films.
