This should be a homework assignment for parents, teachers, social workers, therapists, police, judges, and attorneys. Some essays are better than others, but overall it does a solid job of describing, and supporting with extensive data, the multiple developmental impacts on children of being the victims or witnesses of traumatic violence. This book gave good insight, statistics and overall information on child trauma. Some articles were more interesting than others, as with any collaborative work. I would encourage parents and those who work with children to read. Children today face new challenges and violence that impact their brain development, placing them at risk to face even more challenges at school and in mental health (a whole domino effect).
