I'm thinking about doing the Julia Child's thing with this book. Cooking through all (or most) of the recipes. Awesome anecdotes and a fantastic sense of humor, dishes that I might not be interested in all of a sudden become must-cooks because of his narratives.

This is the best cook book I have ever used and read. Not only was Morrison Wood a great cook, he included interesting commentary on how he stumbled onto the recipe. Who he dined with, where he was and when he prepared the recipe. With a Jug of Wine was issued in two editions. He wrote this cookbook before Julia Child wrote her book. Julia Child's French Cook books is exceptional, but complicated. I prefer the simpler recipes prepared by Morrison Woods. It has been out of print for some time. He...more
