Great book: very informative, and I feel much more confident about our planned hike this summer. I appreciated that it was written by a woman, so she included some tips that would apply solely to female travelers (ie menstruation) but didn't make a big deal out of them. I would have given 5 stars if the photos were in color - I would have paid several dollars more for color illustrations, as that would have made them easier to decipher.
A handy little guide that includes interesting human and natural history information. I especially like how the book breaks down the hike into manageable sections with a suggested timetable. We attempted to summit Whitney in October 2012 but really took on the task too late in the season and therefore were forced to turn back; we will make another attempt this summer. I will definitely be carrying this book!
