I read this book probably 15 years ago for "Book in a Bag." I remember writing the name Gertie so many times, it has stayed in my mind for this long. I didn't remember the name of the book, but I searched the name "Gertie" & found it here. Way cool. I remember it was a mystery that I liked.. Maybe I was in 3rd grade. Not sure. I think the story had something to do with music. Could be wrong though. lol

For years, I dabbled with writing. But I didn't begin to write in earnest until
