My first read by Catherine Mulvany, "Shadows All Around Her", just blew me away and "Something Wicked" was enough to put her on my 'authors to watch' list. Now she's followed those up with "Wicked Is the Night", an action-packed paranormal suspense that was a lovely way to spend an afternoon.

Nevada is a woman with no memories of who she is. She only knows that, until she escaped, she was in an institution and her psychic powers were being painfully tested like she was a guinea pig. Since her esc

She doesn't know who she is. She doesn't know where she's from. All she does know is tht her made-up identity is Nevada White and she is running across the country, being chased by blood, death, and vampires.
Follow this journey as Nevada befriends Trick Granger, a former race-car driver, along the way and uses her flashes of psychic abilities to piece the puzzles of the past together with the present to figure out what her future holds.
Catherine Mulvany weaves a very good tale with alot of act

I really enjoyed this book. Nevada White has chemical induced amnesia and escaped from an asylum. She is searching for answers to her incarceration as well as her past when she stumbles - quite literally - upon Trick Granger. Nevada is being pursued by vampires and a mysterious stranger. Together Trick and Nevada investigate her past, ranging from Boston to San Francisco.

Trick was a race car driver and a major crash has drastically changed his life so he is dealing with self-identity issues. Po

The one reason Wicked is the Night by Catherine Mulvany did not get five stars? The main heroine's problem - amnesia (used by countless soap operas and romance novels to have their characters have serious personality changes). Now I know that the amnesia is linked into her psychic "flashes" thing, but still...

The book is quite good otherwise - filled with suspense, romance and a vampire who is just plain diabolical! Also the main hero, Trick (love the name by the way - it's short for Patrick - w

Catherine Mulvany’s life is a fairy tale. Okay, a fractured fairy tale. At age eleven she fell hopelessly in love with a little town in eastern Oregon. With a population under fifty—counting the cats and dogs—the town didn’t even qualify as one-horse, but the place had character. Character and an abundance of arkayesses.

Never heard of an arkayess? Neither had Catherine. But on the first day of her
