Blogger and journalist Fred Clark has repeatedly attacked the book as being "Bad Writing and Bad Theology"[1] in a long running series of weekly posts[2]. He feels that after the Rapture the people of the world, including the heroes of the story, assimilate the disappearance of all the world's children with a monstrous rapidity that displays the ways that the authors have allowed their checklist of prophecies to be fulfilled to outweigh the consequences these events would have on the p...more

I can't believe I lasted as long as I did reading this wretched series. Looking back on it, I was completely suckered in by the apocalypse effect (as I often am). The writing is horrible, the evangelism is blatant and disgusting, the women were forced to make babies and clean up after the determined, patriarchal bastards known as men. Ugh, what a waste of time. Please don't be brainwashed by this crap like I was for nine books.

The Left Behind series is an interesting FICTIONAL depiction of what things may be like during the 'end times' foretold of in the biblical book of Revelations. The writing is very good and the characters are well developed. The critical part in this mass media juggernaut that has become a world-wide sensation is to remember that it is FICTION.

I have learned that I don't want to be Left Behind!! Since I did not read this book right in a row, like all of the rest, I had a bit more trouble remembering what was going on. But once I got to chapter 3, I was hooked again and remembered everything I had read before. It's another good book. I can't wait to read book 10!

As always, I found this to be another great Left Behind book. I can't get enough of this stuff! The writing is great in this one, especially of the Antichrist's desecration of the temple of God. The things that were actually happening were horrible, but the description of it was great. Two thumbs up from me!

This entire series was great! It kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time and made me excited for the next book to come out. It wasn't a "preachy" book but at the same time did witness. My review will be the same for all the books in the series. Well worth reading!!

OK...this series just went on for too long. I enjoyed the first 5 or 6 books but then I felt like the authors were just turning out books for the money...how disappointing. The writing wasn't that great. I think this is the last one I read.

Why I got to Book Nine of this series before I stopped reading I'm not quite sure. It helped that these are written at about a second grade reading level, so you can whip through one on a reasonably long subway ride.

Wide margins, thick pages, endless repetition of what occurred in previous installments punctuated by brief episodes of gore make this book and those that follow not worth the ink they're printed with.

The series has a good plot/storyline, however the writing isn't that great. And it can have overbearing Christian tones to it at times. Overall, the series is okay - nothing great not the worst.

This book in the series was difficult to read, but the authors did a very good job describing the terrors of the Antichrist and how severe his persecution of believers will be.

Good series to make you think. Some theology not exactly how I see things but overall a good message and very engaging writing.

This series went on too long. After a while I found them boring, so I stopped with this book.
