When Janice Dickinson left America's Next Top Model, the show started to fucking suck. She was the best part.
There is no longer anyone to call the model's fat cows or hump Tyra. *sigh*
I came across this book a few days ago and thought "This will be a fun, light read."
Just judging from the title alone, one would assume this book is about how to be shallow and fabulous, right?
It was so much more than that.
Janice is so smart and so funny and so interesting that it is upsetting that she was the "wor...more

This is the second book by Janice. I loved the first book alot about her life. The first book she was not afraid to name drop but this book she did not drop names on celebrities she had stories about. Reading the second book was about the ugliness of the modeling business and alot of stuff she already talked about from the first book about her life. It is a book to read for someone who wants to get into the modeling business especially for young girls. She also talks about how to take care of yo...more
This book wasn't nearly as good as her first. It continues the semi-autobiographical theme by telling us stories that presumably weren't good enough to make it into the first book, although some are still pretty funny. She also gives random bits of advice, some of which are good and some of which are ridiculous, like the relationship and dating advice.
Another big issue here is Janice is promoting a pretty good message that what you see in the media is all airbrushed and its a level of perfection...more

Janice Dickinson tells it like it is. What I like about this book is that she admits to having plastic surgery b/c even she knows that she doesn't really look like her model pictures in real life. It's all airbrushing. (Why even use real models these days, anyway?) I don't agree with Dickinson's bashing of plus-size models. Why can't those girls get some love too? Shouldn't that be a healthier direction for society than saying "Look at this image that you'll never be able to attain and yet you'l...more
I love Janice Dickenson- I find her very entertaining and i love the fact that she does not apologize for her opinion. Many people are put off or scared or offended by her but like i said- i like her.
This book was definitely not as deep or insightful into her life as her previous book "No Lifguard on duty" but it was in the true spirit of Janice- entertaining. She is still a name dropper but does not give as much detail and there is basically no plot. All Janice is doing is spewing advice about...more

I don't remember anything about this book nor why I even read it except maybe I wanted the literary equivalent of trashy reality tv to read while on the train. I do recall being impressed with her honest admission of all her plastic surgery work and she's pretty opinionated, which is always kind of fun to read.
pointless drivel from a woman who clearly has some serious issues.
Okay...so I bought this book because it was on the clearance shelf, and after thumbing through it and seeing some funny parts I thought it would be worth the $5. I have to admit that I kinda like Janice Dickinson...lol. She's so outspoken, and there's something pretty fabulous about her - even if she does toot her own horn a bit much. Her writing isn't phenomenal, but it's an easy read with some funny parts, and she certainly has had an interesting life to say the least.
friggen histerical, and much more down-to-earth than the title suggests. it's the biography and core beleifs of the world's first supermodel. i honestly hated her until i read this- the book itself is very impowering, honest, and entertaining, and it gives Janice a chance to actually prove there's a real human being behind all that cash and botox. it only gets annoying to hear her brag about herself periodically, but that's also a charming aspect...in a weird way.
Janice was never one of my favorites, but her sense of humor is hysterical sometimes. She can be self-contradictory and I found her disdain for plus-sized models annoying, but she seems to have no shortage of amusing antecdotes and the whole Mick Jagger thing laced throughout the book is pretty funny. (If she were as over him as she claims to be, I wonder, would she have bothered mentioning him over and over?) A funny, light read.
Janice Dickinson is amazing if only for her ability to sound at once totally honest and totally full of shenanigans. Bitch is crazy but you kind of have to respect her for it (lest she stab you).
