Many of these poems remind me of the shadow boxes made by Joseph Cornell. And while I recognize this might not be a novel comparison to make for a book of poems published in 2008, I think it is especially suitable for this one. These are prose poems, with a wild throw out with the variety of images (sometimes too far I think). But the sum of those images creates a tone that matches that broken darkness I feel with Cornell's work.
