OK!! WOW WOW WOW WOW!!!!! DO NOT WALK, RUN, OR DRIVE TO GET THIS BOOK!!! SPROUT WINGS AND FLY!!!!!!!! J is right!! This is not even close to what I thought I would expect from this book. From shapeshifter werewolves, to intriging vampires, to demons that are helpful, to big really nasty critters from long ago, this book had me enthralled, just like the vampires do. If this is the first I cannot wait till I can read the rest. WHEW!! I mean I always watch the Tour de France and it is on right now, ...more
Okay, so I gave the book another shot, and I'm glad I did. This is probably one of a handful of books where that admirable effort actually made a difference. Despite myself, this book grew on me.

Readers of Nina Bangs' (and what an unfortunate choice of pseudonyms) other works will recognize her style in Eternal Pleasure, fast and flippant with no excess scenes or dialogue, but unlike Bangs' other novels, the Gods of Night are meant to be darker and troubled. After all, these are men imbued with

Loved it, loved it, loved it. Its hard for me to find a first book in a series that I really enjoyed, this one fits that bill and gave me more. Nina Bangs wrote a fabulous story with these shape shifting dinosaurs, no they are not your cuddly shape-shifting tigers or wolves etc. these are more hard core love to kill killers, so you get several blood scenes. You have 11 of them they are called Eleven Gods of the Night and they are all hot, their leader Fin is really hot also. You also get vampire ...more
Oh my God, this book was so bad. I mean, just...terrible, really. And yet, I wouldn't burn it in a fire. What I'm saying is that it's not in the so-bad-it's-good category, but it's definitely so-bad-it's-hilarious. It almost makes me rethink my one-star review, but I'd hate for someone to pick this up thinking it's in any way a quality read.

There were a few times that I laughed so hard I cried, and not because the book was intentionally funny. I mean, there's a point where the dinosaurs are show

I was a little interested to see how Bangs would do with this book considering her Sparkle and Ganymede series is a little more lightheared.

The story line for this book is a group of 11 men who used to have the souls of different dinosaurs are brought forward to the present time to basically save the earth. Each man is given a name after their dinosaur. Sound hokey, but it really ends up working out.

Ty (t-rex) is the hero in this book and Kelly, his driver, is the female. What I liked most about

"In a series inaugural from Bangs (One Bite Stand), the Gods of the Night are incarnated for the first time in 65 million years, summoned to protect humanity from an all-encompassing evil that is coming in 2012, at the end of the Mayan calendar. While currently incarnated as deadly, handsome men, they have the ability to assume their prior forms—those of gigantic dinosaurs."

Wow, this was way more ridiculous than I remembered it. Ty is way too bossy and alpha for my taste, Kelly is just not interesting enough and takes way more of Ty's shit than she should, and Fin is a manipulative bastard. Then, there is the overload of mythical creatures and beings; vampires, werewolves, "otherkin", sorcerers, fae, demons, ghouls and of course dinosaurs in human bodies. It's just too much! There are also a bunch of cheesy lines and quotes, but I admit
Best Shapeshifters Ever. It opens with a prologue--predators hunting, catching, crunching and devouring. Then having sex. Then, wham, the predator is a soul stuffed inside a human and on his way to meet up with ten other predators. The world is going to end in 2012 at the end of the Mayan Calendar, and these eleven guys (Eleven! Um what did I just read?

It takes a lot to render me speechless but for a few hours after reading this book I was just that. Eternal Pleasure has to be one of the strangest PNR books I have ever read. It is about a bunch of dinosaurs trapped in the bodies of attractive men. One day they are woken from their slumber (by a silver haired, leather pant wearing god who saved their souls after all the asteroids hit earth), given a mental download of how to act and how everything works in a modern human
It was enjoyable but i just didn't bought the story.

Wow what a concept! Eleven reincarnated Gods fighting ten evil almost Gods. Vampires, werewolves, all kinds of shifters. This is a paranormal lovers paradise. Eleven hunky, gorgeous good guys who shift into something un-freaking-believable. And normal everyday, though very pretty, heroines. This book featured two of the eleven and one of the ten so I'm thinking many books in this series to hit all the characters.

If this is your kind of thing, you're going to love this series.

This was a great book! I dont really have to say too much because of all the glowing reviews...

The only reason I didnt give it 5 stars is because I wanted more steamy scenes between Ty and Kelly. (What can I say! ;-) )

I look forward to April '09 when the next book comes out!

Felicia Day and Bonnie Burton, I love you and think you're wonderful people, but I don't think I can be part of your book club anymore. I know you said this book wasn't screened, but it was so awful in so many ways, I just don't even. A lot of people found this book so bad that it was funny, but I am not so amused. :/

Get some crackers when you read this one, because there's plenty of cheese inside. It's the good sort of cheese though, the kind that makes a book laughably entertaining not simply groaningly bad. It may not fully qualify as being a "good book" but it's certainly a fun book to read so long as you're willing to tolerate all the eye-roll-worthy moments in it.

Kelly is just a regular woman, a music major trying to pay her way through college who jumped at what sounded like an easy job playing chauff

One word: dinosaurs.

Sorry, make that two words: Fucking. Dinosaurs.

Awesome. So bloody awesome, I can't really form coherrent sentences here. What makes it awesome is that I went into this book wary; how the hell could dinosaurs work in PNR? Well, just ask Nina Bangs, because she managed to do just that, superbly. I'm impressed she took the risk with the dinosaur when it had such potential for failure; I'm even more impressed that she managed to make the idea sound so... not far-fetched. The p

Now this book totally Wow'd me. I love the paranormal world and when you think of shifters you think of were-wolves, were-cats, etc... But I never thought about Dinosaurs. Oh my God, there is no creature fiercer than a Dinosaur and talking about sexy - WOW, they are very primal and ravaging.

I loved the fact the story takes place in my home town “Houston, Texas” and every time I read and recognized a place where the characters went I couldn’t stop myself from smiling because I

Despite hating her overly-contrived vampire series, I decided to make one more try at her books before giving up. This one is much better, which still doesn't give it more than a 3. She still relies way too much on as sort of "just because I said so" mentality, not bothering to do the truly talented author work of making a story that hangs together in a logical way given the premise. Even her characters question the concept, with the response on page 119, "some higher power must've set the rules ...more

While this book had an interesting back story, I just couldn't get over the writing. It seemed as if every sentence was contrived from a cliche--this is how an urban fantasy should play out. Each dialogue seemed to come out of nowhere as there was no build-up emotional or otherwise to them. I'm still unsure of the main plot--other to win the girl's heart and get in her pants--and there seemed so many characters that we met for only a few minutes and then moved on. I just couldn't get into this author. The idea was interesting and original for sure but it was just poorly executed. I don't know if this was a bad edit job where too much was cut or if it was a writing deficiency. Either way, I was left feeling that the story was choppy and made huge leaps that made no sense. I'll be honest. I did not like this book at all. Firstly, the plot revolves mostly around this team Of "Gods of the Night" whose souls are really dinosaurs! When I discovered that while reading, I was really hesitant to continue, but I did anyway. I mean one day the hero is a TRex (65 million years before) then he wakes up into a main with very primal hungers. Not a man that thinks like an over-grown reptile, but a man. I found that very hard to swallow.

Apparently, the author hints that they are
I was more than a bit cynical when I found out the premise of this series...eleven warriors are brought from the past to our time to stop the world ending in 2012. Pretty normal. The kicker is that 65 million years ago, the warriors were dinosaurs. Now, I am used to immortal werewolves, vamps, demons, a ghost or two. But dinosaurs? But to my surprise, it worked. This is the first in the Lords of The Night series, and it was intriguing. I don't want to give too much away, but there is much more t ...more

Now that was fun. I enjoyed this one very much. I mean, what's not to like about a group of warriors who were dinosaurs in a previous existence. They all work with Fin (a very beautiful and mysterious guy who holds all the answers I suspect) and work with demons, vampires and werewolves to save humanity. I am interested in the backstory of the Eleven and the Nine, from whence they came and for what they are really fighting. I especially would like to know what/who Fin is and was. However, I skimmed much of this book, just to get through it and I won't be picking up the rest of the series any time soon. Perhaps I am giving this book somewhat short shrift as I am Romance book-ed out. Also, the cover with the ridiculous author name and title is crap.

Also, we have wine. This part is very important.
