I REALLY wanted to like this book a lot more. The first book in this series was a lot of fun, and made me care about the character and the situation that Earth was in (being over-run by these aliens that fed off of life energy). But the first book seemed to me to be one story that just kept flowing from episode to episode. The writing in this novel felt more as if it the episodes were distinct, and were set in chronological order so as to make one story.

When last we saw David Valentine, he was an up and coming Wolf in the Southern Command, fighting against the alien Kur race who use "Reapers" to feed off the auras of humans. This time around, Valentine gets caught up in military politics and is forced to resign from the Wolves. He uses his newfound skills to go after a new group, the Twisted Cross, before they can build up their force...more

Sort of an interesting take on the whole modern vampire novel; the vampires are aliens that take over planets, use it up, and then move on. This series follows the humans that are resisting the takeover through the aid of gifts bestowed on them by enemies of the vampire aliens.

Much like the first one, a good tale of action and adventure that's good for when you don't want to think too hard. Lot more stealthy/infiltration action in this one instead of small unit battles. Knight's got a fun series going here.

Almost as good as the first one. Enter the female role of Duvalier. The life weavers do some pretty cool stuff. This books confirms that Knight wasn't jsut a one-hit wonder. Anyone know if he's got more that the Vampire Earth series?

This series gets better and better. I could not put this book down for the life of me. The author has created an awe inspiring post apocalyptic world full of new mysteries. I don;t see how anyone could not enjoy this book.
