I used this book in the University Extension course the author teaches. Overall this was a great, encouraging experience. The book served very well as a text. This wouldn't be the best choice for a first writing book. The basic information is there, but briefly stated, making it better as refresher-course material. You might say, if this were a painting, it would be impressionist.
