As this was published in 1976, it is now a historical curiosity. It concerns British butterflies; at this point, some species were already threatened, some were on the brink (particularly the Large Blue, which of course became extinct in Britain in 1979) and others were not yet considered threatened (for example the Small Pearl Bordered Fritillary and the Pearl Bordered Fritillary).
