At the beginning of the book, we join Mac just after she finds out that she was adopted. Immediately, she begins to act like her parents just dropped off the face of the earth, and she starts referring to her sister as her only real family. Her attitude instantly turned ungrateful. Ok ok… I'm starting to get it. This second installment was Much better than the first. It has lots of action and with all the mayhem it gets pretty hard to put down. The mystery, though, is still there picking away at my brain cells. We got no real answers in this one, especially from Barrons. Only more questions. Which ended up being ok because the book is fully loaded and it couldn't possibly all fit in here. Plus the anticipation is kind of fun.

I don't like Mac. I don't like Barrons. I'm not even really enjoying the story. So why keep reading, you might ask. Masochism? Some vague sense of loyalty toward friends on here who constantly berate me with, "Keep reading, it gets better!!!" Or, is it really just my obsessive compulsive NEED to see how something ends? It’s a little hard for me to write a review for Bloodfever, because I finished it and immediately started the audio of Faefever. I think I might confuse some of both books together if I try to summarize it for anyone. Suffice it to say that I’m hooked!

The second installment of Bloodfever is intense, powerful, dramatic and clever.

We see a great deal of character growth from out favorite characters as well as a progression in the plot, albeit a small one.

The writing is, as always, stylish and immersive. The world is complicated, mysterious and intriguing.

Overall, this book is a fantastic second installment in what is an amazing, refreshing and enjoyable series.

Lost weekend.

I read this in a few hours, the same way I read the first book, the same way I read the next, and the next... I picked the book up, opened it, and looked up several hours later. I resented every interruption. I thought about canceling plans with friends so I could stay home and read. I skipped meals. I ignored the internet. I didn't sleep.

Although it may not seem like it, this isn’t a story about darkness. It’s about light.

What the hell is it that makes this series so addicting? I mean, I have read quite some Urban Fantasy series and although I liked a lot of those – sometimes even more than the Fever books – none of them are that addicting to me. More often times than not, sequels are either a hit or a miss, and I'm happy to report that, for me, this one was a definite hit.

Holy Shit! This is just getting better and better!
Still on the search for the ancient magical book- the Sinsar Dubh, Mac and Barrons, a very unlikely team, find ways to overcome

I have no words to say how good this series is.
If you enjoy UF and Paranormal romance (not that it has much romance in it but what it has is awesome...) you'll love this series.
It became one of my faves since I started it, but after reading the 2nd book in the series I have to say that it is on my top faves. I love everything about this new world Moning has created, and I absolubtely recommend this serie.

The Fever series by Karen Marie Moning is far more brilliant than the Meredith Gentry series by Laurell Hamilton. Hamilton totally flat-out does it for me. I really can’t stand the Gentry series ( at least not the first time around ). The Fever series has me on edge with anticipation and pleasantly surprises me with hilarious moments. Ha!

This Fae book is wonderful. I really can’t get enough of these books, and I look forward to rereading the series.

The relationship between Mac and Barrons and More...

Woo! How fun is this series? Yes, there are probably some very questionable themes that I probably should think suck some big ol' petunia - but I can't seem to wipe the smile off my face while I am reading. Sometimes I feel like I am enjoying myself a little too much. Moning's world building is a lot stronger than her follow through- but I think it kind of works here. This delicious sequel to Darkfever does not disappoint, as so many sequels do. Having often been burned by Shitty Sequel Syndrome, I am so pleased that my original 5 star rating stands after my reread. A quick list of whys:


- Mac is smarter and stronger. She’s also straddling ruthlessness and it suits her. Her world has changed and there’s no more denying it for her. She’s changing with it and the series can only get better for it.

WHAT IS BARRON'S!!!!! AARRRGGHH it's driving me nuts!
There are some pretty gruesome scene's in this book, I actually gagged at one stage..you'll know it when you read it!
But there was also one smoking hot scene which hopefully will develop further in other books.

Another amazing read by Karen Marie Moning. I love this series! My friend and I are reading it together and we can't get enough! I actually downloaded the Kindle app on my pc at work so I could get my fix during breaks. *lol

Reading this book a second time in preparation for Shadowfever.

Once again, the reread is so much better than the first reading! It is really a lot of fun to look for all the clues in this series. Who/What is Barrons? Who is the Lord Master? Why does everyone want the Sinsar Dubh?

Mac has been in Ireland for a little more than a month now and so much has happened to her. I am really liking how her character has evolved. I am beginning to believe that the pretty in pink Mac More...

What worked:
There's less "this is what Barbie is wearing today" junk going on.
The building tension between the two main characters.
A trip to the beach
Description of the rabbit
Some fun word combos - I reread a couple sentences because I liked them. That makes me happy.

What was clunky:
Regarding the beach trip - The exchange rate on time isn't something I can think too much about without it becoming an inconsistency that makes me want to TSK TSK in the author More...

Once again, I was blown away with the vivid description, characterization, and intrinsic world building that exists within the fever series. It is a nerve wracking, emotional roller coaster of a series.

I’ve got to hand it to Moning, she is a master at revealing everything and nothing at the same time.
