***Be warned that this is the 3rd book of a planned 5 book series. So this takes us about halfway through events. It ends on a cliffhanger, but I still loved it!

Holy Sh@%! I just finished "Faefever" by Karen Marie Moning and I'm not sure whether I want to kiss her or kill her. Her writing is lucid, smart, fantastic, and yet somehow believable. If you're a fan of Moning's 'Highlander' series and are looking for more of that...then you need to pass on by. If you're look...more

There are only four authors whose publication dates I follow religiously. And ever since the Harry Potter series ended and Anita Blake turned into a creepy sort of person I’d be disinterested in meeting if she were real, there are only two of them whose publication dates I follow religiously so I can actually be at the bookstore the moment it opens on release day to buy my copy. Karen Marie Moning is one of them.

I was introduced to her Highlander series a couple years ago and f...more

I both loved this book and hated it. I still love all the characters and the tension of the high-level story is building to such a climax that the next piece of straw could bring down the fall of mankind. But every good author makes you fall in love with the characters and then the author has to make bad stuff happen to them. That is what gives us a story. Usually in a book series, each book resolves a sub-plot while maybe increasing tension of the main plot; this way you walk away feeling satis...more

This was very dark and suspenseful. I could not put it down. My heart rate was increasing, I was was salivating, turned the page and there was nothing left to read. Now I have to wait for the next book. I hate being left hanging like this.

I am not sure what I think in terms of stars. Yet. I am a little bugged. There are a few things I know for sure: It was scary. It's well thought out. She creates a great atmosphere. I was totally engaged. This is a great series. It is very well written.

That being said, I really did not like the cliffhanger ending. At all. I don't need a HEA. I don't mind if there are unresolved threads. Faefever left me wanting so much more. JJ, I did feel strung out and ultimately unsatisfi...more

I'm hooked on this series. This is the kind of thing I don't want to admit I like, but I've joined the forums at the author's website and I spent more than an hour discussing which actors should play these characters in the movie versions. When the library gets book #4, I'm first in line to check it out.

The last series I was excited about was Twilight. There were so many things I had to overlook in the Twilight series in order to just enjoy the story. Moning's Fever series doesn't ha...more

I read this book the day it came out and have to say I was not very thrilled with it. Frankly it was a rip-off. Little character development at all. The fever story could have been told in 2 or 3 books there is a ton of filler in these books. at least 25 percent just goes over what happened in the previous books. I know what went on, I bought and read them already don't waste my time and money. It irks me!!!! I have decided not to buy the next 2, I will wait till they both are out and get from t...more

I am new to KMM's books and I read the first two in the series and while I have never cared for how she chooses to end her book I usually at minimum enjoy the story. This book however did not do it for me. There were certain parts that were interesting and some action scenes which I love, but the book failed to deliver. I like Mac, and I love how she used to be carefree but to avenge her sister's death and save the world she is doing what she must. In this book she seems a little stunted she jus...more

This book is so awesome! I love this series. This is the third book in the series and the third book I've read. I read this one in two days.

I have read a lot of series and frequently by the fourth or seventh book in the series, I am done with it. I get bored of the series. It is as if the writer runs out of momentum. I will love a series, care a lot about the characters and then by book three or four, I just don't care anymore and I don't pick up the next book. This is happening wit...more

I read "Faefever" the day it was exactly released. Back then, I wasn't impressed with "Faefever" at all. It was confusing and slow, I thought, and wasn't worth the hype so I tossed it into the back of my bookshelf.

Then this past week as I was sorting through my e-mails, I came upon Karen's newsletter about the upcoming 4th book, “Dreamfever.” Realizing that I was still a huge fan of the “Fever Series”, I decided to give "Faefever" another try.

Seriously........ did it just end like that!!?!?!?!??!?! Talk about a cliff hanger! I'm not going to be able to last! When does the next one come out? I need to go investigate right now!

AMAZING book though. Seriusly loved it. I wasn't really into this series w/ the 1st book, but now that I've read the next two I am officially obsessed!

I just finished reading the 3rd book in the "Fever" Series by Karen Marie Moning and loved it. I went to the authors website and found out she's writing 2 more books in this series. Unfortunately, no word on when the next will be out.

First read Darkfever, then Bloodfever because the story continues in each book.

This is a dark fantasy thriller with unique twists and turns. The main character MacKayla Lane (a Sidhe-seer), is living in Dublin and has found more...more

Ok...this book does not sit well with me! There is so much retelling of "facts" that it becomes a bit tiresome. I wanted to see more of Christian MacKelter (by the way...he is connected to the Highlander series - I like the connections between the Highlanders and this Fever series). I would have liked a bit more interaction between Mac and Barrons. I know who and what I want Barrons to be...not sure it will happen. I also know how I want V'Lane to fit in...am not sure that will ha...more

I started this 3rd book in the series first and was half-way through it before I found the other 2 books. So I stopped reading it at p.130 to be exact. I found the first (Darkfever), read that, then the second (Bloodfever)within a couple weeks. Then re-read the 3rd(Faefever) from the beginning and it was totally worth it. It filled in a lot of questions that had been plaqueing me during the first read of Faefever.
Now I wait for the next in the series...

perfect balance of paranormal things and mystery. i finished this book the day i got it. as soon as you open the book, youre drawn in. i like how moning gets you right into the action, in the mist of things instead from an awkward beginning.
mac is always changing. though im not in love with her character completely, she is the main focus and i love how the story takes you to places you would never expect. i thought the story could move faster (felt like there were fillers to prolong the "...more

The story really moves, as do most of the rest of Moning's books. Unlike some of her other fans, I don't mind that the author left Mac in a bad place. I'm looking forward to seeing how she gets out of it in the next book.

The third book in this series is definitely the best so far. The action was much better, the narrator was more of a bad ass and less of a prissy Barbie. And the sexual tension went up quite a few notches (heheheheheh). I read the whole thing in one day. The only thing that was kind of bothering me was the in all three books the author keeps using the same descriptions for the same thing: "waxy-leaved magnolia trees" and "Arabian Nights curls". I get it! Can you just go ...more

MacKayla Lane went to Dublin to investigate who killed her older sister only to be pulled into a world of intrigue where everybody seems to be looking for an unseleigh hallow: the sinsar dubh, a book which makes her acutely dizzy and nauseated whenever she is close. Since she can sense the book, Mac becomes a focus for all the forces.
The book is fabulous until the last chapter. Then everything goes over the cliff. I think the author meant to give us a cliff hanger to ensure large sales ...more

“ I wish I'd waited till all 5 books were written . I hate things ending on a cliffhanger then having to wait who knows how long till the next installment.

I loved the inclusion of the Mckeltars in Faefever.

I really like the depth of story that the series is able to get into and that it's not "just" a romance. The blurring of the line between good and evil is skillfully written. Fiction often simplifies things "good" and "evil" are easily ...more
