This story is a lot like the game we all learned in kindergarten. Whisper something in someone's ear and by the time it gets all the way around the room and back to you, nothing you said is mentioned and so many different things have been added onto it. This, however, was a lot worse!!!
I don't know how or why Annie kept her mouth shut, nor her relationship with Sarah and Fanny. I would have had a lot of fun with them for a while, but that mess gets old after a while. And the husband, or ex, jeez

For some folks gossip is akin to food. It nourishes their being and gives them a reason to live. Several of the residents of Hillgate Village, a deliciously wicked community concocted in the imagination of author Teresa Waugh, are so pre-occupied with their neighbors affairs (both real and imagined) that nary a day goes by without a “juicy tidbit” managing to make its way into circulation.

Waugh’s “Gossips” are replete with all the idiosyncrasies that make for a delightful read. They are jealous
