~ Part 4/5 of the Serenade Serial, a vampire romance story ~
Vampire Irene is not running away.
To others, it might seem like running away, but who cares what they think? She’s absolutely not running away from the human Rachid and his vampire companion Oliver, who asked her for something she cannot, will not give. Still, things would have been much easier if all they’d wanted was sex!
But as she travels to Berlin, London, and finally New York, the memory of them follows her, like music echoing in her mind. And soon, it’s more than a memory that comes to find her…
Kallysten is a writer of romance novels and short stories, most of them with paranormal elements.
Her first eBooks were published by Linden Bay Romance in 2005. The defunct Venus Press subsequently published a few of her short stories. Because so many of her stories are linked as series and part of the same universe, she decided it would make sense to have them all in the same place, which is why she self-published, first with the co-op Alinar Publishing and now on her own. When she sees calls for submissions that speak to her muse, she sometimes tries for them, and was published this way by Samhain and Torquere.
Irene leaves Paris trying to get some distance from Oliver and Rachid, and her conflicting feelings for them and their quest to get her to turn Rachid. And in her quest to get Morgan to own up to his feelings about his past and loss of Melody, she finally realizes that she had not owned up to losing Ethan. Meanwhile, Oliver follows her to New York with some help from Lilah. What a bit of a mess. Things are moving a bit faster in this book. It's a great read.
we meet up with our familiar characters again. more details of their past gets revealed and even more confusion rearsits ugly head! she travels the world to come to grips with everything that has happened and to come to terms with it. when she arrives at her home in the states it's not long before she bumps into Oliver, being sure one of her daughters had a hand in this. this once more starts the discussion what prompted her to leave in the first place. will they get further this time around or are more drastic steps made? i'm sitting on the edge of my chair to see how this is all going to play out in the next and final part. it's heartbreaking and heartwrenching!!
This is the fourth part of the Serenade Serial and it adds some nice layering to this story as well as touching on Ward of the Vampire.
Oliver is getting more attractive with every story and Irene is really turning into a complex character. And of course, Rachid is hot as hell. I can't ever get enough of him.
I really can't wait for the five and final section so I can see how it all turns out.
