I read this book because one of my struggling readers was reading it and I have a hard time carrying on conferences with such readers when I haven't read the book. I really enjoyed the story, made many connections to other things we have read and feel this will be a novel I recommend to others in the class. The characters were interesting, realistic and I really sympathized with them. Although the resolution is too predictable and boring, it's short enough that it doesn't have time to ruin the ...more
