One may not agree with every opinion Bloom puts forward: and he is much more likely to assert forcefully than to argue and back up his views compared with a more modest and careful (and also excellent) critic like Bradley. But he is frank and forceful and responsive and interesting.
Plus he is daring - a little self-consciously so but that's inevitable for a smart guy swimming somewhat against the tide of critical fashion.
