Mommy got me a brand new potty! But I'm not ready yet!

I want to run and play.

Uh-oh, I peed in my pants.

But Mommy says, "That's okay!"

Children will love following along and lifting the flaps to see the child play, sit on thepotty, eat, sit on the potty, sleep, and then sit on the potty...until finally there is success.

Written from a child's point of view, this new potty-tra...more

A little girls gets a new potty from her mother because she is too big for diapers. She is scared to go and she has an accident, but she sits and waits until she finally goes in the potty! This is a great book, but it is probably a better book for toddlers. This was in the infant section of the bookstore, but after reading it, it is clearly designed for children who are potty training. You could begin reading it to your infant if you chose too, but I would recommend it for children who are a lit...more

I absolutely loved reading this book to my little boy when he was potty training. The pictures are big bold and colorful. Every page has another surprise fold out page that is fun for little ones to open up. The story puts potty anxiety at ease. He says,"mommy says it's okay if I got wet today". The ending is magnificent because the boy is potty trained, and it shows a big picture of his face. At last, he says, "I am so proud of me!"

This has been one of my daughters favorite all time books...I read it so much when she was younger that I still can recite it by heart. She just had me read it twice again as we just found it and she's five now! Obviously she holds it close to her heart. So I have to log it for memory sake.

The potty time favorite, read every time. It touches on the change from diapers to pants, the accidents being okay, transitions, and potty success. The illustrations are generic enough for the little one to be either boy or girl as you prefer to tell it.

I have read a fair number of Katz's books now. I was excited about this one because I find most of her books (either written or just illustrated) cute and fun. But, this book about potty's wasn't that great. Each page having a full page flap to pull out was a little awkward even for me as an adult. I skimmed the text and wasn't that impressed. It seemed to be more about the child resisting potty training then instructing. Maybe I will change my mind when we get to this hurtle, but right now this...more

Great story, pictures. I don't like how the kid sits on the toilet with a toy bunny. I don't want my kids to learn to bring their toys to the bathroom.

4 stars for being a lift-the-flap book. I wish it was geared more toward toddlers holding it.

This book helps children who are potty training. Most kids have potty anxiety and this book would help ease that anxiety a bit. I would definitely recommend it to my parents who are ready to start potty training.

This is a great book for parents and children that are ready to start potty training. The children will really like lifting the flaps to see what is hiding underneath them. Don't be surprised if they are heading to the potty soon after finishing the story.

This is a cute little potty training book for kids. The only thing I didn't like was that it used the word "big kid pants" but I usually just say "underwear" instead and it still works.

A great book to help encourage your child to use the potty. My son wants to read this book like five times a day. I really like Karen Katz books and so does my son.

Best book for helping children learn about going potty! My son loved this book and I believed this book helped actually understand about the potty and using it. :)
Melissa
Actually really helped Porter understand the potty more and how it is easier than peeing your pants.
Karen
For the moment, my daughter is not that interested in this potty-training book.
Pixie
My little one loves to lift the flap to see what's next.
Kim
Cute and informative without getting into too much detail.

My baby boy loves this book :)

The way the pages unfolded in this book was pretty confusing to my little reader. Normally he likes lift-the-flap books, but this was more of a lift-the-page book, and therefore like we were turning pages the wrong direction, so he seemed to get kind of frustrated with that.

I've liked most of these lift the flap books, and my daughter certainly enjoyed reading this one, but I wasn't too keen on the way it communicated potty training concepts; it just didn't work for us and where we were in the process.

4.5 stars -
this was very well received by our little guy!
especially the last page "I'm so proud of me!" - it's become his mantra for successful potty attempts... and I love it :)

this is really cute. kind of generic kid -- can't tell if it's a girl or boy, which is great i think. lucas had me read this three times in a row when i first showed it to him.

Great book, especially for new potty trainers. However, the flaps make it difficult to read. Love this book because my daughter really connected with the books character.
Joanna
I prob shouldn't have rated this one and can't undo it. We received it as a gift. This would be better for a younger child or a child in the beginning stages of toilet training.
Sarah
Told from the child's point of view. Gender neutral. I like that the child tries many times before there is success. Great illustrations!
Kersten
A fun, rhythmic story about getting potty trained. Arley requests this by name all the time.
Dylan Reisz
She's not as fun as Henry, but Baby is alright.
