An odd little book. An illustrated novel about a man whose aimless walks and bottle of bubble juice remind and teach him tiny lessons. Think, The Little Prince. I did head out for a walk after reading it...should have brought the bubbles.

An intriguing graphic novel of sorts, of a man's walk about and meanderings that lead him to life discoveries on how to be happy, make friends, and be at peace with the world. I enjoyed the drawings very much and they were well executed. The book review from Lemony Snickett at the end was quite amusing.
In this slim volume you will find the eye opening story of Mr. Fooster's travels. He goes for walks with seemingly no purpose but to see what he will see. Along the way he has interesting and surprising encounters and makes good use of his old bottle of bubble soap.

This is basically a fable - fantastical, weirdo things happen to Mr. Fooster on his walks. I LOVED the brown ink illustrations and the message about imagination setting you free, but it sure got cheesy at the end. I wish he had held back just a bit and let us figure out the message instead.
Possibly a bit too absurd for me, Mr Fooster goes on a walk, blowing bubbles, and turning into a tree. And it gets even sillier from that point. There is no true plot, which some people say would be the point. The language is appealing at times, but it's as if the story was made up as the author turned the page.
A sweet walk in magical realism. A quick read or a slow, chapter-a-day read. Love the drawings, and the things Mr. Fooster wonders about, and the way it ends.
This book takes a stab at the magical-whimsey thing but ends up creating unremarkable nonsense. The only memorable thing about the book, sadly, is the set of illustrations.
This is a lovely, surreal little "illustrated story," much like a fairy tale for adults. Clever and enjoyable.
The illustrations were very nice.
What happens to your soul when your ambles take you on unplanned journeys? Are you left more naturally disposed to creative solutions, such as bubble-created cars? Or do you get lost along the way and find your need draws that big bug you befriended back from his outer space travels?
Yes.
Yes.
Delightful little book with very cool illustrations. An uplifting and quick read.
A friend gave me this book and I happily passed it along to a 14-year-old girl who then passed it to her mother.
Traveling on a whim, indeed.

A quick little read, complete with illustrations. Mr. Fooster, a unique character, take a fantastical journey and exposed the reader to the possibilities of seeing things differently, and finding inspiration where least expected.
I read a lot of graphic novels to my son so have become vaguely interested in the genre for adults. This one has nice illustrations but you can skip the story.
Charming little story about finding inspiration everywhere. Think yourself free!
Delightful, whimsical, very short book. The quintessence of my brother.
A handsome book with good illustrations, but kind of a trifle.
Just a fun little, inspirational read with great drawings.
