The sad thing is, this is exactly sort of thing I think about pitching to an agent every time I'm frustrated with my job. And it's just awful. Really. It's that quasi-friend of yours with a hot glue gun, telling you in minute detail how you, too, can enjoy the fruits of hot gluing, but not only that -- she's gonna tell you how to find friends with whom to share the gluing fun, as if anyone who doesn't already know how to find a playgroup is gonna learn from a book about hot glue. And in her best...more
I am planning on making the ribbon barrettes with my 10 year old niece, I can't wait!!
I love the crafty ideas --easy to do and inexpensive to make -- cute and fun. This book doesn't take itself too seriously - it is crafting afterall. (I don't know why one the reviews went so crazy about the glue gun topic - this isn't Dickens, it is crafting projects for kids). I like the author's spunk and creatively. I would love to be at her crafting party, but I'll have to settle for the book. A great gift for moms and babies.
I had the pleasure of hearing Abby at the Kings English talk about her book, being a mother and show one of her crafts. She is such a fun creative person. I had my 7 month old daughter Maggie with me and she modeled the mohawk fleece hat. The hat was so cute. I bought the book to do crafts with all my sister in laws for our children. I love that all the crafts are under 2 hours and inexpensive. I love the book and author!
I flipped through this book at a store and wasn't too impressed, but when I saw it at the library, I decided to take another look. Although the whole premise is "crafting without any particular skill" - i.e., no knitting or sewing - and I like to sew and knit, I found many of the projects in here to be really good ideas. And while the excepted the tone to irritate me, I found it resonating with me instead.
I can't wait to try the accessible and totally genius projects in this book. This is a great fit for beginner crafters and anyone who works as a caretaker or at home parent because the projects can be done during naptime, in the evening, or with a group. I feel like Abby Pecoriello was thinking of me (and folks like me) when she created this book.
Such a cute book. Makes an awesome baby shower gift. While I'll never have as much energy as the author must have, it did actually inspired me to try a couple of things. It was so easy and the directions were simple and spelled out, unlike a lot of half-assed project books. Ideas were so creative and the voice was great. Loved it.
Abby came and made crafts with us at the store tonight and it was really fun. They are easy and cute and a great way to hang out with your girl or boy friends and make stuff. A great baby gift.
Lots of fun projects for babies and toddlers. I've made a fleece blanket and plan to make some of the hair barrettes.
A cool book of baby-related craft projects. My only criticism is that some crafts seem to be not baby-safe (involving beads, buttons, etc. glued onto places where babies could pull them off. Overall though, the projects are fun and easy.
Some day I will complete a craft project. I may burn down a house in the process. This may the book that helps me complete these two things.
I have not made anything out of this book, but it has great projects that are on my list to do. The instructions are very easy to follow.
I really like the simple and adorable crafts that Pecoriello has created. These definitely have been added to my "To Do List".
definatly will give to my sister who is just starting to craft. a bit simple for me
Mine only has 49 projects. Apparently, the library got ripped off.
I'm always looking for new ideas and with two new babies in the family on the way I need more present ideas.
BUT.
I found this book very basic and not at all inspired or inspiring.
I would never tell anyone to buy this book. It would be a waste of money.
The only good things was the photography was great.

lots of no sew projects. I liked the blankets and would like to make them one day...
I just have to say I love this book! It is full of wonderful ideas and has inspired me to start a crafty mama club at our library! FUN FUN FUN!!!! I can't wait to get started!
Some fun and cute projects. Nothing fancy, but easy no-sew projects that could be completed in 1 day.
A few too many no-sew fleece products, but some other fun ideas.
Most of the projects seem quite doable and fun.
