"Lucky" Logan Grey is a man who is haunted by the tragedies of his past. Though newspapers have dubbed him the "luckiest man in Texas" because of his mysterious ability to sense, and ward off, trouble before it occurs Logan knows his luck is anything but good.

Caroline Kilpatrick fell in love with Logan Grey the first time she saw him at the tender age of 8. He was the first boy to kiss her and nine years later he was the 18 year old louse who married her, bedded her and rode away the next morni

This was actually a really good book. I am not normally into suspenseful, murder mystery romances stories.... but this one flowed perfectly and kept my interest the whole way thru. The characters were all well written and likeable people. I did find myself stopping often to wonder what time period this book was taking place. It seemed more modern than historical to me. (they talked about having bathrooms with showers, telephones, and just modern lingo) I did check and it looks to be early 1900's ...more

This was a very good book. There was a lot of excitement from beginning to the end. Logan Grey was a range detective. He had done some wild and crazy things in the last 15 years. They biggest one land on his door step when a strange woman, Caroline tells him she is his wife he left after their wedding night and that he has a son. It just gets better and better and takes you on a hell of a ride.

The plot in this one is a little over the top, but it's fun and I devoured the book. It's a Western. There are shoot outs and tornadoes and a lot of sassy women. Caroline is a good heroine; she's got a spine and a fierce independent streak that comes across as genuine and admirable rather than stubborn and annoying, as is so often the case with "strong" romance heroines. Logan is attracted to that part of her, so it makes sense when they team up for a crazy mission to find members of Caroline's ...more

This is part of the Good Luck Grooms series. Set in East Texas, 1871, this book has a little bit of everything: tragedy, lots of humor, suspense... I'm a hug fan of this author! She's one of the few historical romance authors I read (she also writes contemporary romance).

The hero is a hired gunman with walls around his heart. The heroine is a determined woman with trouble on her trail. They have a history they can't deny, and an attraction the can't control. What they need is a run of good luck

This was a really good read. I pretty much loved the whole book and was turning pages like nobody's business and losing chunks of time. ;) Great characters, written well, suspense, some action, emotions, strength and courage, a dash of humor, tight spots, an a great HEA. I definitely want to read more in this series and the previous series this is connected to. Gotta love the West. Totally Enjoy!

This is the first book from this author i have read. I give this a 4.5 stars. I really enjoyed how Logan & Caroline- the main characters complimented each other! She stood her ground but also gave in when she needed to. She kept being optimistic that Logan would come to his senses...

Great book! Lots of adventure and fell in love with Logan and Caroline. The only thing I would of liked better was the end be longer but it seemed even the cut short brought it back to the very beginning and did just fine. I'd still prefer the longer endings : ) that's just my preference

These was an awesome story! I loved it. The characters, the setting, the fun, the action, well everything about it. Fans of Ms. Dawson's BAD LUCK series will find THE LONER a winner. I can't wait for more!

I actually liked this one better than the Bad Luck Brides series, although I enjoyed the brief appearances by the characters from those books too!

I'm not much for adventure stories but this was a right proper adventure delivered in a smooth, effortless tone. Highly engaging.
