The childish storytelling is starting to wear on my nerves. All the girls are always giggling (and driving me batty). Most of the action has no consequence, and half the time I can't tell whether the narrator is being genuine or sarcastic. I've found it's best to read quickly and not think about the writing as much.

I choose to read this book because I love the show Gossip Girl. The book is about a person who knows everyone secrets and displays them on and the seniors at Constance Billard School for girls want to know if they’re getting into college. My favorite character would have to be Blair Waldorf. Blair Waldorf is really outgoing and she does whatever it takes to get what she wants. What she has wanted to get is Yale. She’s my favorite character because that’s how I am. The emotions tha ...more

I'll admit it: I really like Gossip Girl as a show. And I was going to Europe for a couple weeks, so my mom bought me this as something to read on the plane. I had no plans to read it, but I packed it anyway, in case I ran out of books. It's sort of hard to find English books in central Europe. I did end up reading it on a day I was feeling sick, and I didn't hate it; I read it in a couple hours, without stop, but man, I really didn't like it. It requires you to suspend your disbelief, which is ...more

I still wasn't a fan of the characters in this, but they weren't completely awful. Another okay read in the series.

I love and I hate Gossip Girl. Each time I pick up a book I start reading it and think "meh." Meh- because it's so hard to believe in the lives of these rich girls and boys. I could sooner believe in aliens then what these people get away with. But then I keep reading and at the end of each book I think - "well, I guess I should buy the next one."

Is Nate and Blair over for good? Are they more than friends, or just friends? When Nate went out with Blair they went out for a while. Than Jenny a freshmen is going out with Nate(senior). At this time Blair is very jealous, and mad at Nate and Jenny because they have a realtionship. Nate is a handsome senior that is every girls dream. He does not need to find the girls they find him. One of the quotes on the back cover refers to this series as "Sex and the City for the younger set," which is misleading. Because I'm Worth It was written with none of the wit or intelligence which made that tv show so popular. The characters all lead ridiculously glamourized lives, full of parties and four hundred dollar shoes, but they lack any pretense at substance. Some of the characters might have been more interesting if we'd seen them for more than a few pages. The perspective shifts ever ...more

I tragically had to skip book #3 - due to an ereader file issue (it was translated from English to Spanish and back again, I think. Highlights included "For those who love me, gossip girl" instead of "you know you love me, gossip girl" - anyway this was as wonderful as the previous books. I am ever rooting for Blair and ever perplexed by Dan Humphrey.

The fourth novel in the Gossip Girl series, and man does the drama heat up. Love is in the air as Valentine’s Day hits. Not only that but our main characters are becoming famous! Serena has become this huge runway model doing ads for perfume. Dan has become a semi-famous poet going to fancy parties and gaining an agent, his girlfriend Vanessa is also going to famous parties and filming strange things. Blair finds herself with an older man, even though she’s still not over Nate, while Nate is cle ...more

This one was just bad.I'm giving it 1.5 stars only because of Blair ofc.Us short girls have to stick together.Dan was depressing me,Vanessa is irrelevant anyway and Nate is annoying as hell and the new friend he made in re

This book was about a girl who thought that she was better than everybody until someone came that was much better. so,she decided to do everything she could to keep everyones attention on her. what i learned from this book was to never stoop down to others level when they start to become jealous of you.

- Blair agrees to help be a peer group leader for a group of freshman in order to make her application stronger for Yale. She ends up with Jenny in her group, who technically stole Nate from her, but there are no hard feelings because Nate just dumped Jenny on NYE's and Blair feels like that's punishment enough. Peer group isn't super successful, because Serena's also a leader and instead of talking about things like body image or issues with school that the freshies are worried about, Serena sp ...more

I recommend reading the novels before watching the series, as I did the opposite and now I am regretting it. I keep on coming across different details of the novel which are nowhere near what happens in the TV series. I keep o eagerly reading, expecting for Blair to finally lose her 'V card' with Chuck...

However, the book i question is a little less interesting than the parts 1-3, perhaps because it is so focused on Dan and Vanessa succeeding in their different spheres of art but I might sound

Ale ale ale. Na obzoru se rýsují nové postavy a nové trable. A kdo je na vině? Všichni. V téhle knize nezůstane nikdo s čistým štítem. A ideální slovo? Hříšníci.

Serena se dala do kupy s Aaronem, ale klidně na něj zapomene. Pokud je středem pozornosti, nikoho jiného nepotřebuje. Serena se chová jako malá holčička, a ne, není to roztomilé. A Aaron? Rozešli se, respektive on s ní.

Blair se ostříhala podle Audrey Hepburn -ano! - ale pak se v záchvatu žalu, nech

My review of BECAUSE I'M WORTH IT can be found in full on BookedJ's blogspot location which can be found here and will soon be posted to Tumblr as well.

Because I’m Worth It takes things up a notch for our favorite Upper East Siders. Time has passed rather quickly and the more things change, the more they stay the same. Some are given second chances, some are cleaning up their acts and some are exploring whole new worlds to discover themselves no matter what it costs those they love. As usual, we

Warning: SPOILERS!

Hello Dear Readers! And Happy Lazy Sunday!

I'm at Scruff's this weekend but I thought I would break up the monotony of my weekend with one of the book reviews I promised you in this post. As most of you know, I was a huge fan of the Gossip Girl television series and I had been wanting to read the books. Well, I finally got a hold of them and started reading them at the end of January. I finished up book 11 recently and am finally ready to write out the review.

Reading these while reading the Pretty Little Liars books only highlight how much better Gossip Girl is. The only mystery around here that's ongoing book by book is who Gossip Girl really is, but that's not a make or break mystery. We could care less as long as (s)he's dishing the gossip.

For some reason the brand name dropping doesn't get on my nerves as much as it does in PLL. I think because it's more subtle or appropriate? In PLL every time someone picks up the same Coach bag Shepard writes '

The book that I am reviewing is Because I’m worth it Gossip Girl Novel by Cecily von Ziegesar. The genre is fiction the theme is about a group of Upper East Side teens in New York going through peer pressure, drama, love, confusion, normal teenage life. The Book is based on a TV show called Gossip Girl the novel.

Well, all the same characters are in there second year at Constance Billard school for girls. Blair and Serena start off by opening a girls group to get extra credit for collage. Jenn

This book takes a new, juicy spin on everyone's personal life. The only bummer was that nothing really memorable happened in this book, as there were no earth-shattering moments (okay, so I'm exaggerating) like from what I remember from the previous three books. (view spoiler) But I really did enjoy all the new aspects on everyone's lives, and can't wait to move on to the next book!

I'm also beginning to wonder who Gossip Girl really
I was both impressed and horrified by this book. The first page was an excerpt from a blog-type website, seemingly written by a high school girl. Noticeably absent were the abbreviations, bad grammar and lack of punctuation so often seen with technological teens. This impressed me. The following pages of sex, drugs, smoking and the like weren't so impressive. I understand why they're appealing, and the story itself had a Sex in the City-like vibe. But I must still have an old-fashioned sense of ...more

Because I'm Worth It, by Cecily von Ziegesar, is overall a good read. The quirky and sarcastic style of writing, which remains consistent through each of the books in the series, adds humour to the drama in the teenagers' lives.

The plot, however, is somewhat lacking, in that I was not absolutely desperate to read the next chapter. In fact, in contrast to the first three Gossip Girl novels, some of the characters' storylines became somewhat tedious. I found myself looking forward to reading Blair

“It was so typical. Whenever Blair did anything nice for someone else, she usually regretted it.

Which kind of explained why she was such a bitch most of the time.”
“You know when you see a gorgeous boy on the street and you say to your friend, "Look at him!" and then your friend makes a face like, ugly? We all have such totally varied tastes that someone is going to look at you and think, yum-yum dee-lish, no matter what you think you look like.
