PERFECT EVIL is a notch above some other contemporary romantic suspense books I have read this year. Ms. Sheedy manages to take sex, lies and letters to another level. And let us just say that I probably would not have picked up the book if I had a more in-depth understanding of what it was about. The subject is outside my comfort zone.

That said, the author takes the touchy taboo subject of human trafficking and makes it hmmmm, less squeamish? Many of us including myself would like to ignore the

"It was too cruel, this life. First love, then mistakes and unthinkable losses, leaving nothing but broken souls adrift in a bleak and empty wake. Alone. Always alone." So many bones in the closet in this one. At first it was slow going just getting to know the key players but once the plot thickens, you can't stop. Turn after turn, I just couldn't believe where it was going and what was being revealed, layer by suspenseful layer. Hannah is a broken soul who found comfort in Milo after a tragic ...more

Perfect Evil by E. C. Sheedy

This was a good story.

The description of the book I am listing below is from the back jacket of the book. I'm adding it because I believe the one on the Goodreads page does not depict this story.

This is an older book I have had sitting around for awhile and I must say I had no idea what I was missing. I was engaged with the characters from the start and really enjoyed the plot. I must say it is one of the better books I have read in awhile.

I dunno...this book failed to grasp my whole attention. Hannah was a shambling mess. I failed to sympathize with her character. Also, the build-up towards the revelation that Yates is related to the antagonist is...meh

Just awesome. There was so much going on in this book that it was hard to keep track, but it made it go fast and be awesome. A few editing issues but nothing that took away from the story. The hot scenes were HOT.

Not a very good read. Hannah is way too clingy and dependent to really be a heroine. It takes her almost 3/4 of the book to finally get a backbone and the minute something goes wrong, she goes back to her old ways.

This book is romantic suspense at its best.

Reclusive Hannah Stuart, who has withdrawn from the world after a personal tragedy, inherits a fortune when her friend and protector, Milo dies.

Sly and evil, Morgan Greff needs the letters Milo wrote before his death and will stop at nothing to get them.

Hannah almost succumbs to his charms, when Yates Lang, womanizer and investigator shows up.

Despite the reluctance of both to enter into a serious relationship, they find they are falling in love.

This sort of started slowly and seemed to improve as it went along. Hannah loses her best friend and it turns out he's left her 3 cryptic letters to open after he's gone........this then opens up a whole load of confusion within her life and it's pretty hard to know who she can or should trust.
There were a few jarring punctuation mistakes but nothing horrific.
I'd certainly read other books by her.

WASN'T A BAD BOOK BUT NOT TO GOOD FOR ME. I HATED THE HEROINE HANNAH SHE WAS SO WEAK HER CHARACTER JUST TURNED ME OFF. AROUND 90 SOMETHING PERCENT OF THE BOOK SHE SORTA STARTED TO GET SOME SENSE. THE STORYLINE WAS GREAT BUT HANNAH SPOILED THE BOOK FOR ME, I WANTED TO SLAP HER ALL THROUGH THE BOOK. THE ROMANCE SCENES WERE WELL DONE, I REALLY HATED ALL THE VILLIANS THEY WERE REALLY HORRIBILE.

3.5 star - confused damsel in distress. It was interesting enough to keep your attention, but kind of predictable.

I live on Vancouver Island in the moody, green, and rain-washed Pacific Northwest. So when I'm seriously story challenged (too often!) I often walk the beach and commune with the stunning and multi-talented Mother Nature. (Make that beg for inspiration!) If that doesn’t work, a few minutes thinking about the quirks and foibles of human nature usually does the trick.

I dislike cooking.
