In this latest installment in the English series about chubby Ellie, boy-crazy Magda, and elegant Nadine, a lighter issue is the focus of the plot: curfews. Ellie at last has a real boyfriend, but her desire to meet with him is stronger than the desire to get home on time, much to the frustration and worry of her father and young stepmother. A subplot of a crush on the new art teacher is sweet and easy to relate to.

Woodson's engaging heroine is the everygirl equivalent to Phyllis Rey More...

I've read a few of Jacqueline Wilson's books by now, and I do recall quite liking Double Act and not disliking whatever the other one I read was - though nothing too special, she can write a very natural, realistic voice for a young girl.

This book, however... wow no. See, to ME, it just wasn't that realistic - nor were any of the characters likable. I swapped it through readitswapit.co.uk because I'm more keen on sending out my books to good homes that I'll swap with almost anything More...

I really liked the book girls out late by Jaqueline Wilson because its a book that is about teenagers for teenagers. Its a book that you cannot put down and it was interesting. I like it how Jaqueline has made more books for teenagers not just kids books. This book was about a girl that could be a real life story for someone someday. I really liked this book and i think it is a great book for teenagers to read and i recommend girls to read it. It is also a series so you can keep on reading them. More...

That's the true problems teens facing these days. Overcoming failure about love, and how to keep your dad away when you are in a date with someone. hahaha. But the true lesson of this book is, we are free, yes, but there is always a limitation, we must not push it to the limit. And don't give your full trust strangers, because it might put you in harm. It is really a good book for teeny :)

I loved this book! Very well written, and even though I'm 26 and the book is aimed at young teenage girls, it still held my attention throughout. Wilson is a very talented writer, it appears effortless. She manages to get the voice right without it sounding patronising, which is where so many others fail. I can completely understand why she is so successful.

I have to give this book at 4 stars, mainly because this book-series was my ultimate favourite when I was in my early teens. Back then, I felt like they were some of the few books that actually got how being that age was like. It's a good and funny book and the characters are well-written and quite realistic.

A cute, but honest and believable portrayal of young teenage girls trying to deal with boys, parents and school. Elly, Nadine and Magda often veer off the path and are led astray by boys and other kids their age, but the subject matter isn't too raunchy and is tasteful and humorous.

An excellent read for teenage girls, Jacqueline Wilson captures the problems and worries of teen girls well and is able to portray them in an amusing and entertaining way. A very enjoyable read and one of my favourite books from when I was a teenager.

Books like Girl in Love, Girls In Tears and Girls Out Late, makes us girls seem like we only care about fellas. =/

So, to be honest I hate the boy obsessed Ellie and her two weird friends.

This, I decided, was more of a middle school book than a high school book. The main characters are about 9th grade age, and it has a plot that seems typically middle-schoolish...drama and boyfriend/girlfriend troubles. There were a couple of times when I thought the plot might take a more realistic turn (high school) but it came out of the incidents without any complications. I thought it was too predictable.

This is another thoroughly entertaining teen read from Jacqueline Wilson. This book dealt with a lot of a issues many teenagers face including curfews, having crushes on teachers, managing a boyfriend alongside friendships, taking risks and telling lies. I found this book quite funny compared to the others; particularly Ellie's relationship with Russell. Although I did find Russell to be very selfish and Ellie to easily forgive him. Overall, a very good read, dealing with a lot of issues teenage More...

Possibly my favourite in the series. A realistic look into the lives of teenage girls. The good times and the bad times shared with the friends and the family.

One of Jacqueline Wilson's books for older teens.

I was a huge fan of her books when I was younger so I decided to read this not too long ago. It was a very accurate description of growing up in the 90s/early 2000. It was very funny at times too.
