Seeks Solitude...Spending the summer in tiny, idyllic Cooper's Landing sounded wonderful to play-it-safe teacher Evie McBride. She'd read, relax and run her dad's antique shop while he set out on a fishing trip. So how did she end up tutoring neighbor Sam Cutter's troubled teenaged niece? Especially since Sam's handsome face and sense of adventure didn't give her a ...more

I had a hard time getting into this one. It wasn't until the end of the story that I began to pick up a little bit of a connection. I felt by then it was almost too late.

getting closer to the end of my "quick, lite, easy reading" pile, and will soon move back to all the twisted thrillers!

loved how the main character of this book stood up against her fears when push came to shove. i also like the sacrifices that her father made to help her as a child. found out later it was wrong, but ... been there, done that, myself. and w/ out a crystal ball, NONE of us really know how what we're doing as parents is going to work out til MANY years later. ya just do the best y

Kathryn has done it again. I love the humorous additions to her books. Anything that can make me laugh and cry in the same book deserves a five star. Thank you, again for an awesome read on a lazy Sunday afternoon.

Evie McBride goes to help her father's store while he is away on a fishing trip... Sam Cutter's got his niece Faith to deal with as they all recover from his twin brother's accident. Will Sophie's treasure put everyone in danger or will God help them through?

I would have to give this book a 3. I like Kathryn Springer's books but of the three McBride books this one was my least favorite. This book wasn't quite as good as I was hoping it would be but it was pretty good and worth a read.
Simple story so far.. honestly I bought it because it cost $5 and looked like an easy read. I'll let you know.

Kathryn Springer, winner of the 2007 Write Touch Reader’s Award (long contemporary), grew up in a small town in northern Wisconsin, where her parents published a weekly newspaper. As a child, she spent many hours sitting at her mother’s typewriter, plunking out stories, and credits her parents for instilling in her a love of books – which eventually turned into a desire to tell stories of her own. ...more
