DI Adam Stark is a cop from a small, Scottish town working in the biggest of all English cities – London. He’s been seconded to a specialist murder squad, but he’s not convinced the rat-race suits him.

Meanwhile, a concerned citizen has also had enough of the inconsiderate people around them and decided it’s time to teach them some lessons … forcefully.

Having no expectations of this book, I really enjoyed it and found it hard to stop reading. At first I couldn't work out who the characters were, but this did become apparent. A vigilante citizen taking the law into their own hands in quite a horrifying way - who is it? And how close to DI Stark is this person?

New author to me and I started off a bit confused but soon got into it.

Steve Welch has had enough. The inconsiderate behavior of the people around him has finally got to him and he, along with his best friend Garry, decides to teach some of them a lesson. However, there’s also a vigilante on the loose, targeting the same people Steve does, but with much bigger consequences. When Steve realises that he could be held responsible for torture and even murder he knows he must find the killer quickly.

A clever idea, but the changes of pov were confusing at times. I did find it annoying when I read a review (to see if my own thoughts were erroneous) and the reviewer more or less gave away the plot and the twists. Not good.

Anyway, I ended up enjoying this until the last scene which I felt was a bit of a let down. Strong 3 stars, because on the whole I liked it.

I'm a Scottish person, edging ever closer to a significant birthday. I'm married with one daughter and currently reside in Dunblane, Scotland.

I've written six novels, so far: mostly crime fiction. The DI Adam Stark series has three books out now and a fourth under construction. There are a couple of standalone crime novels and a post-apocalyptic, Scottish horror. They should all be listed below.
