As a potential true crime writer, I've been dipping my toe in all non-fiction accounts of crimes and trials. This was from a library that was closing down, and free, but what a great find. Singular is a perfect writer for this kind of story - he keeps it fast-paced and mysterious throughout, but also, given it was about a 1980's schemer managed to veer away from any feelings of datedness.
