I really was expecting a strong Republican book from Dick Morris and that's not what it was at all. I was pleasantly surprised that he was fairly fair. ;-) He wrote on several issues that concern our country today such as what to do with the illegal immigrates that are already here and how the school unions are hurting our children. Not every topic did I agree with and not every solution did I think would work, but it was enlightening to me to read about how he sees the problems and the solution...more

I really liked this book and it opened my eyes to a lot of things I didn't realize were going on. Dick Morris exposes politicians, businesses, organizations, and even countries for their lying and shady dealing that has the greatest detrimental effect on the consumer and the common man. He reveals the facts behind the Oil for Food Program with Saddam Hussein, the real dangers of illegal immigration, how the teacher's unions and not lack of spending is destroying our education system, how the tob...more

I learned so much from reading this book that my head was spinning. The authors pull no punches in laying the truth right out there no matter how painful it is to read. It is a sorry state of affairs to know that our media turns away from the truth and often covers it up, in fact it quite "outraged" me!
If you are an American citizen, a taxpayer, a registered voter you must read this book. It will surprise, amaze, disgust, anger and hopefully motivate you as much as it did me. Wit...more

Really great so far. Morris isn't a great writer - his style is very conversational, and it comes off more like an angry speech instead of a book. However, the ideas are very engaging and fascinating. He very fairly attacks Republicans as much as he goes after Democrats, and offers an incredibly insightful criticism of some of the problems with American politics. Even better than that, at the end of each section he offers some real ways to fix the system. I don't agree with some of the sections...more

This book was the best book I read in 2007 and I wish every citizen in the U.S. would read it. Why? Because we, as citizens, need to put pressure on our politicians to straighten up and fly right--and to fix our system.
What I found interesting about this book is that Dick Morris (a Democrat strategist) names names--both Democrats and Republicans. Morris blasts lobbyists, politicians that receive large donations from special interest groups, pork barrel $, the United Nations, and others.

Outrage is useful in describing how specific Congressional abuses of power help special interests at the expense of the average American, which is the aim. Highlighting the bribery, campaign promises, and compromised morals of our political leadership provides a public need for such information. Everyone intuitively knows that politicians are crooks, but the Morris/McGann team exposes exactly who is doing what and how. They deserve credit for this service. They also expose the blatant corruption...more

Not as blatantly one-sided as I expected, but it was still slanted. However, it was nice to read actual proposals for solutions from a Conservative rather than the standard negative reply to everything the other party suggests. Morris seemed to actually want to improve the situations that he identified as problematic rather than systematically oppose everything the Democrats put forth or suggest. It was certainly interesting to read the chapter on health care as well since this was written be...more

This book will most definitely make you feel outrage! It's shockingly informative to learn of the abuses, corruption, wastefulness, etc. of our government programs, congressmen, lobbyists, and more. And it's not an attack on just one party. Dick Morris names names, and points fingers. A very readable book. This information makes you want to get involved for change. Morris gives some "action agendas," but the problems really do seem almost overwhelmingly large! Another of his books is ...more

This book is outrageous. Its borderline conspiracy theory Anti-Liberal and Republican 300 page rant. So many shock value statistics but no citations or notes on where they might have come from and nothing to help me feel they are validated.

This book will absolutely blow your mind. It's amazing how we, the American public, is getting abused by the beaurocrats in Washington. A must read to fully comprehend why we are getting screwed by our political leaders.

I couldn't get through this book... though there were some interesting/new facts and figures in it, it has huge flaws. For instance, Chapter 1 "Immigration: The Wide Open Door" justifies a more strict immigration policy on the basis that several of the 9/11 terrorists were in the US illegally. While this is not quite as bad as using 9/11 to justify a war in Iraq, I find it extremely questionable. Why not focus on the impact of "everyday" illegal immigrants? I ultimately concl...more

People should devour Dick Morris's analysis. Few writers are as meticulous and comprehensive as he is.

Pretty interesting. Learned how little our Congress actually "works." Worth reading during an election year.

Dick Morris is a hack. Fact Checking a necessity.

A "must read" to understand what and how our country's problems have escalated and will continue to esculate unless American's are educated and informed and unite to solve these issues ....
